I went there today for lunch and had a really good meal. I ordered sweet and sour chicken my husband ordered chicken and fresh mushrooms in brown sauce. I was a little upset because his meal was better than mine. Overall the place is really nice it was clean and the food was pretty good. The only downside was that the hostess was falling asleep in the middle of her shift and really didn't pay much attention to us. I'll go back again and give the place another try.

Wow! This place was great. I'm glad I listened to the yelp reviews. We put in an order on Saturday night and it was ready in 10 minutes for pick-up. AMAZING. Very reasonable prices. Wonton soup was excellent - not too salty, hearty and lots of dumplings. Only disappoint was the cold noodles appetizer - very bland and a little bitter. Expected them to be sweeter.Lots of crispy noodles that were delicious. Chicken and broccoli was great. Sweet and sour chicken was excellent. We only had 2 fortune cookies for a party of three which was a little bit of a bummer (I guess they went by how many entrees we ordered.) All in all, though, we really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back! Some of the best chinese I've had in the tri-state area.

4 and a half stars? REALLY?I mean, REALLYyyyy???If this is, as one reviewer said, "Absolutely the best Chinese food in the area", then we are in trouble.Just moved into town 2 weeks ago. Based on my realtor's recommendation and on the decent reviews, a friend and I decided to give this place a shot. Big mistake. We ordered soup and 3 dishes, every dish was blah, the only thing that was average was the soup.I would not call this a Chinese Restaurant, it's an AMERICAN Chinese Restaurant.Big difference.I don't understand why restaurant owners cannot keep things authentic. Is it really that bad for business to stick to the real stuff? Do Asian restaurants really have to change things to cater to the American palette in order to survive / thirve?I guess next time I want real authentic Chinese Food I'll head over to Manhattan or Flushing. Or cook.Sigh.

I seriously don't get what everybody is talking about here! Ok, I will admit that the service might have gone downhill a little bit, (might be different for some other people) but for me it is not really that noticeable. I really don't get what one person was saying about Hunan Spring being busy during Christmas! OF COURSE ITS BUSY! Almost all restaurants are busy during Christmas, I can't really blame Hunan Spring for slow take outs during Christmas, because when I arrived there to pick up my order, it was FLOODED with people. Another reviewer also complained that on Christmas the man at the front counter had to take other orders too! (Ok, fine I understand how your patience can run out after and hour and a half of waiting but still) You still have to see the bigger picture! The place is flooded with people, so naturally people would have to be more efficient. The food quality is great! The new owner has just added a really nice desert (fried ice cream) which I really like. The owner has also added many new foods and drinks, etc, which all are really great!. Another reviewer talked about how Hunan Spring is and American Chinese restaurant. Well of course its 'Americanized'! We are in America, Chinese tastes of food won't suit the American taste. Thats what most Italian restaurants are doing too! Thats a stupid excuse to give this to give it a one star review! Anyways, my favorite dishes are Pecking Duck (delicious), I still like it very much. There scallion pancakes are also very nice. I also love their Giao Yan Calamari. Their soups are also very good, my favorite is their Won Ton soup and their Egg drop soup. They also have a Satay Prawns dish which is delicious! I also like their fried rice! Its great!(I have been coming to here for a really long time) :)

This is an average americanized chinese restaurant. While the staff is friendly and attentive and the menu is extensive, the food is not authentically chinese. I am disappointed with all 3 dishes (string beans, beef with xo sauce, sizzling sea bass), but was pleased with the soup (crab meat with winter melon). No plans to return, I will drive to NYC instead.
